TNTET is conducted by the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB), Government of Tamil Nadu for recruitment of Secondary Grade Teachers (Tamil Nadu Elementary School Teachers) and Post Graduate Assistants / Block Resource Teacher Educators in Tamil Nadu government schools. Two papers: Paper I (Class I-V, Elementary) and Paper II (Class VI-VIII, Secondary). 150 MCQs each, 3 hours, no negative marking. Subjects: Child Development & Pedagogy (CDP), Language I (Tamil), Language II (English), Mathematics, Environmental Studies (Paper I) / Social Studies or Science (Paper II). Tamil Nadu-specific GK and Tamil language literature throughout. TNTET certificate valid for lifetime as per recent Tamil Nadu Govt. orders.
