What is Topicly?
Topicly is an AI tutor for Indian government exams. It follows the official syllabus of your exam, one topic at a time. Sia, the AI tutor, explains each topic, quizzes you and helps you plan, practise and revise.
Who is Topicly for?
Anyone preparing for an Indian government exam: SSC, banking, railways, UPSC, state PSC, defence, police, teaching and more. Popular entrance exams are covered too.
Do I need an account?
Not to look around. Every syllabus page is open to everyone. To study with Sia, take a mock test or save your progress, create a free account. No card is needed.
How do I get started?
Create a free account and pick your exam. Add your exam date and how much time you can study each day. My Preparation then shows today's plan and the days left to your exam.
What is in the app's sidebar?
My Preparation is your dashboard and daily plan. Sia – Home is where you chat with Sia. Exam Syllabus, Mock & Practice and Revision Hub hold your syllabus, practice and revision. Ask Sia AI is a voice conversation with Sia, and My Conversations keeps your past chats. My Study Plan, Study Room and Answer Writer sit under Explore More.
02
Exams & syllabus
Which exams are covered, how each syllabus is laid out and where it comes from.
Which exams does Topicly cover?
270+ jobs and exams across SSC, Railways, Banking & Insurance, UPSC, Defence & Paramilitary, Police, State PSCs, Teaching, PSUs, Judiciary, Health & Nursing and Post Office. Popular entrance exams are covered too. See the full list on the Syllabus page.
How is the syllabus organised?
Each exam is split into sections, topics and sub-topics. Open a sub-topic and Sia breaks it into small micro-topics, then teaches them one by one.
Is the syllabus official?
It is compiled from official notifications and exam patterns. Exam bodies change their patterns from time to time, so always check the latest official notification for your exam.
Can I compare two exams?
Yes. Compare exams shows the subjects two exams share and the ones only one of them asks. It is open to everyone, with no account needed.
I found an error in a syllabus. How do I report it?
Email us with the exam name and the topic, and we will look into it.
03
Studying with Sia
How the AI tutor teaches a topic, and what to do when it gets something wrong.
Who is Sia?
Sia is Topicly's AI tutor. Sia explains topics step by step, answers your doubts and quizzes you. When you start from a syllabus topic, Sia already knows your exam and topic.
What are the study modes?
Each topic opens in the mode you pick: Chat for step-by-step teaching, Quiz for practice questions, Solve for worked problems, Visualize for diagrams and mind maps, Check my level to find your gaps, and Research for patterns and weightage. You only see the modes your account can use.
Can I choose how long Sia's answers are?
Yes. Pick short, normal or detailed answers to match the time you have.
Can I talk to Sia out loud?
Yes. Open Ask Sia AI, allow the microphone and ask your question out loud. You see a live transcript of what you both said. Voice needs a browser that supports it.
Can Sia make mistakes?
Yes. Sia is an AI and can be wrong, and so can generated questions, notes and translations. Check important facts against standard books and official sources. If an answer looks wrong, tell Sia and ask it to check again.
04
Practice & mocks
Topic quizzes, daily questions and full timed mock tests.
What kind of practice is there?
Mock & Practice has topic quizzes, a Daily 10 set, speed drills and full timed mock tests. Each question comes with an explanation, so every attempt teaches you something.
Are the mock tests like the real exam?
They follow published exam formats, with sections, a timer, a question palette, marking for review and negative marking. If you reload the page, an unfinished mock picks up where you left off.
Are there previous-year papers?
Yes, when an administrator has uploaded them for your exam. Topicly never makes up a past paper.
Can I practise in Hindi?
Mock questions that have a Hindi translation come with an English/Hindi switch. You can also translate quiz questions and answers into any Topicly language. Not every question has a Hindi translation yet.
A practice question looks wrong. What should I do?
Tap Report a problem on the question and pick a reason. The question is flagged for review, so it can be fixed or removed for everyone.
05
Revision & progress
Revising what you have learned and seeing how far you have come.
What is in the Revision Hub?
Spaced flashcards, one-page notes and formula sheets, and a mistakes notebook. Questions you got wrong come back for review when they are due.
How do I track my progress?
Mark each sub-topic as not started, learning, done or confident, and coverage for each subject updates as you go. Performance analytics show your accuracy by subject and your speed.
Does Topicly make a study plan for me?
Yes. From your exam date and daily study time, My Preparation builds today's plan and a countdown. A revision planner lays out new topics and reviews week by week. In the last 30 days before your exam, a final-month layout puts mocks and revision first.
06
Plans & payments
What is free, what the paid plans include and how AI credits work.
Is Topicly free?
Yes. The Free plan costs ₹0 and needs no card. It gives you 15 AI credits a day, up to 300 a month. Syllabus pages are free for everyone, even without an account.
What do the paid plans cost?
Plus is ₹199 a month, with 60 AI credits a day and 1,200 a month. Pro is ₹499 a month, with 150 a day and 3,000 a month. Pro Max is ₹999 a month, with 300 a day and 6,000 a month.
What is an AI credit?
Credits measure AI work. One credit is about 10,000 tokens, the small pieces of text an AI reads and writes. A tutor answer or a quiz uses about 1 credit. Research and visual explanations use about 3.
When do my credits reset?
Daily credits reset at midnight India time. Monthly credits reset on your plan's renewal date. On the Free plan, monthly credits reset on the 1st of each month.
What happens if I run out of credits?
AI features such as tutor answers and new quizzes stop until your credits reset. You can still browse every syllabus. For more room, move to a bigger plan or the Own Key plan.
How do I pay for a plan?
Pay through Cashfree with UPI, a debit or credit card, or net banking. There is no waitlist: your plan starts once the payment goes through.
07
Own Key plan
Study without Topicly's daily limits, on your own free Google key.
What is the Own Key plan?
You add your own free Gemini API key from Google AI Studio, and Topicly removes its daily limits for you. You pay Topicly a small fee: ₹99 for 1 month, ₹249 for 3 months, ₹449 for 6 months or ₹799 for 1 year.
How do I get a Gemini API key?
Open Google AI Studio, sign in with your Google account and create an API key. Paste it in your profile, under Own Key plan. Topicly checks the key with Google before saving it.
Does my Google AI Pro subscription work as a key?
No. Google AI Pro is a subscription for the Gemini app, not an API key. Topicly needs an API key from Google AI Studio, which is a separate product with its own free allowance.
Is the Own Key plan really unlimited?
Topicly sets no daily limit on your key, but Google still applies its own limits. If you reach Google's limit, Sia tells you and works again when Google's allowance resets.
Is my API key safe?
Your key is encrypted before it is stored and is only used for your own study. We show just its last four characters, and you can delete it from your profile at any time.
What happens when my Own Key plan ends?
You go back to the Free plan and its daily limits. Your key stays saved until you delete it, so renewing takes one payment.
Can I study in Hindi or my own language?
Yes. Sia replies in English, Hindi, Hinglish, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam or Punjabi. Pick your language from the language menu or your profile, and Sia uses it in every study mode.
Is the app itself in Hindi?
Menus and buttons are in English or Hindi. If you pick another language, Sia replies in it but the menus stay in English.
Are the syllabus pages in Hindi?
Yes. Every public syllabus page is also published in Hindi.
Can I translate an answer?
Yes. Use the Translate button under an answer or a quiz question to see it in another Topicly language. Translations are made by AI and can contain errors.
09
Account & privacy
What is saved, who can see it and how to reach us.
Is my data private?
Your chats, notes and progress are saved in your own account, and other learners cannot see them. To answer you, your messages are sent to the AI model that powers Sia.
Can I download or delete my data?
Yes. Open your profile and go to Your data. You can download a copy of your account and study data, or delete your account.
Does Topicly work on slow internet?
Yes. Turn on Low-data mode in your profile. It turns off animations and stops images and videos from loading by themselves on your device.
